I am running Daddy Day Care today, so I won't be getting too much done. Good day to sit around and drink some beer while I watch the race.

Got the horns working on my 85 K20 AND replaced my door switches so the dome light works. Sometimes it's the little things that make you feel good to have working again.

I yanked out my leaking radiator, replaced both the door striker bolts/bushings, and replaced the billet dash trim I had with brushed aluminum parts that I've been gathering.

Re: what did you get done 4/17/11 palm sunday /income tax edition

Saturday took the truck and trailer out to fetch a new 'toy'. Been wanting one of these for some time and finally it moved to the 'need' list. Caught this one on a seasonal sale at the local Farm and Fleet.
Was the first time the truck's been out on the road since first of March for inspection. Trailer has been parked since late November.

Meanwhile, still waiting on "parts" to finish a dash project.

Besides the day job interfering with what I want to do lately, been working on the house and a lot of pre-planning the design for a new pasture fence and corral. Gutting the 30plus year old fence for a brand new set-up in preparation for some 'pasture mowers' on the hoof soon. Wife says one will be named 'Meatloaf'. Tired of mowing a pasture.

Did use the truck to move the splitter and split some wood. Had to try it out! Big change from swinging a 'monster maul'.

Anyway,week-ends are definitely busier now that spring time is here.

Got a call from my wife when she was shopping at the mall saying that her 2004 trailblazer was making a weird grinding noise when she braked..lol... the weird noise that she didn't tell me about turned out to be 2 new rotors and brake shoes.. I wish she could of told me the truck was making a scratchy noise sooner...

Re: what did you get done 4/17/11 palm sunday /income tax edition

Spent Saturday morning preparing for the storms that were making their way across the south east and heading my way. Since the '50 project has taken over my garage the Heap and S-10 sleep outside. Large hail was in the forecast so I covered both trucks with moving blankets under their respective covers. We didn't suffer any damage, but within a 20 mile radius their were 3 deaths and substantial damage.

Washed the "fleet" Sunday, cleaned the yard, straightened up the garage, and finished up some welding on the '50.

I was surprised how easy it went. NAPA had them in stock for like $6 each...unscrewed the old ones, carefully disconnected the female connectors being careful not to break them as they looked pretty brittle. The other thing I suggest is making sure you don't let the wires fall back inside the hole AND don't overtighten the new ones as they are just threading in to the sheetmetal. Good luck.

I started to clean out the new cab for my crew cab build. Went to pull the new bed off of my 84 crew cab parts truck when I was really close to setting it down one of the chains slipped and let the passenger side of the bed fall 3 feet. It crushed the bottom half of the bed side.

Got the front stub cut off of the '88 1-ton I'm parting out, ground and ready to weld onto the C&C chassis. Found a decent set of headers for Fugg Lee ('85 dually) for $40, thanks Craiglist!!!
