Mark, run a search and find the one I took pictures of for Tom. Tom SHOULD , be bringing the crossmember back to me soon, since he couldnt use it. Anyway if Tom ever gives it back Im gonna keep it because I think Ill need it some day soon. But if you look at those pictures and thats the kind you want let me know, I can check some yards out here next time Im out. I remember seeing some last time, I think.

Ohh yeah I see them often on Suburbans.

Why do you need one soo bad, to route dual exhaust? If that is the reason, it isn't a good one. Find a good exhaust shop...it can be done. My truck doesn't have one and neither did my last...both had true duals and didn't hang down too far below the body line if any at all.

this new tall block engine raises every thing up 1" and the stock non duel crossmember falls right in the center on on both sides,,
go figure....was thinking with the duel cross member..could do some welding to the bottom to raise it up a little to get both sides
to clear at the same time....will be doing my own exhaust... my use 4" pipe 850hp. 2-1/2" wont cut it. had the mock block in and every thing has changed even the hooker super comp. headers.o-boy----should be lots o fun (not)

You have a point there. The crossmember Im talking about sits inside the frame on the lower lip. You could easily fabricate something or just install some spacers (lots easier ).

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a double hump cross member and what is so special about it. Remember the only dumb questions are the ones not asked.

Mark, if you have a welder, why not mod the one you have? You could cut out whats in the way and weld a piece back in. By what you are saying about it being 1" higher, I'm not sure the double hump will do you much good either. From the pics I've seen of these things, the humps are not drastic anyway. Although it might work, who knows until you try it.

yea ...i bought some 2x2 tube and6x8 square stock to make one
only about $40.00 thats going to be cheaper than buying a double hump..also...just trying to figure out how to make this think so i can get it out....the stock one utilizes the sides and bottom of the frame and top on one side.you know what i mean.
hate to make something that would bend the bottom of the frame rail.with this rage'n rat engine its going to have solid mounts so if theres a weak link its going to find it..i just wish some of you guys lived around here to just lay under there
and help me figure it out... nobody cares like we do...i really thank you for your intrest... should be posting pics. of new rat soon took some of the block build-up monday...MARK

Hey, I know the feeling. I don't have a dang sole around me who gives a rats petutty. It's not a lot of fun doing this stuff by yourself.

I'm jealous of all the Texas and Okie guys. Wish I had some truckin buddies to hang with.

Oh, I do, you guys.
