Fiberglass doors?

Does anyone have experience with fiberglass doors? What are the pros/cons?

They're easy to crack if you aren't very kind to them, but the great part is they can't rust. Around here, fiberglass doors would be nice because I live in the rust belt. In the midwest or something, I'd go with a steel door. All depends on the climate. I like steel doors better personally, they're just a lot more susceptible to mother nature's wrath.

pros they don't rust and they are light weight.
Cons would be may not line up right and give no protection in a side impact. And depending on if they were never mounted, you would have to drill holes. IMO I would wonder why they are being sold sold cheap.

I would imagine they have some sort of steel frame, so maybe you could make them stronger somehow.

it's gone but
i don't now how they would do in the cold but i think they wouldn't dent and absorb some shock on impact like steel(what if -40 and impact) having to make them stronger seems pointless if you want lighter maybe for show,but not DD for me

Don't know about trucks, but Corvettes have fiberglass doors and they seem to work OK. Older models experience crazing/cracking of fiberglass around the door handles/door lock, but I think that is due to manufacturing process more than the fiberglass itself. Improper or lack of gel coating on top can cause exposure of fibers, so it all depends on quality.
