There great, if you're running an 800 horse engine. Stock rods will last forever in a street engine. I'm even running stock rods in my Model A (6 or 7 years so far) Shhhhh....don't tell anyone.

Probably overkill, unless you have one heck of an engine, and I mean one HECK of an engine!

As long as you're not running nitrous, the stock rods will be fine. If you do go with nitrous, I'd say use the Manleys.

the motor(longblock balanced, ready to go) is already built w/ the aluminum rods in it...i'm just trying to get some feed back on whether aluminum rods will hold up on limited use or if i should go ahead and change them out for steel rods since the motor is already out....trying to save $$$$$$ new rods are about $300, someone to put them in is $400

I have no first hand experience with aluminum rods but I know a few guys that have them in duel use cars. This is what they have told me. If the engine is driven fairly easy on the street and the RPMs at the track are held to about 7,200 rpm they feel comfortable with 10,000 mi inspections intervals. This was in a small block and I don't know specifically what rod they are using. They don't race full time maybe 30-40 passes a year. ....hope this helps ya some, Stroker

Ive used them in street engines back when good rods were hard to find at decent prices. Since good rods can be had for decent prices these days it doesnt make sense to use them on the street. Aluminum fatigues and work hardens and will end up cracking. Its just a question of WHEN that happens. It could be sooner or it could be later but it will happen eventually. Since a set of Scat I beam 4340 rods is under $300 it makes sense to go that way. My dad is running them in an 8-71 blown 468 that regularly sees 7000 rpm and is fully comfortable doing so. He could be using aluminum rods but then again he doesnt feel like tearing it down to see if his rods are cracking every few seasons.

aluminum rods on the street..not a good idea...aluminumrods will stretch and contract with stress and heat..at the track you can keep the engine routine standard..and as posted you need to inspect/replace quite frequently. With the nice combo you have listed, it would be a shame if a rod let go and trashed it.

I agree with big, they move way too much for street use.
