cst vs non-cst

buying new stuff for a summer project which is originally a cst but with gutted interior so i have a few questions

1. looking at carpet. whats the difference between cst and non cst carpet

2. can i use non cst seat frames and buy the cst foam and covers?

3. 1 of the side panels mounting brackets are gone. what should i do to make new ones or find some?

4. are lmc's rear interior side panels any good? very pricey!!!!

5. Any one know of a automatic tilt column to buy new?

6. are truck tailgates the same as blazers? i know their different on the newer body styles

Re: cst vs non-cst

Go to the LMC web site, there are a lot of question answered there by part #'s. There most recent catalog has a new column listed but do not know the Quality! With you on the side panels, I was thinking about making a patern and cutting some out of Aluminum diamond plate possibly black! I keep my top off year round and outside a lot. figured they would hold up to any occasional dewy nights that I forget to cover the old girl up!
Not to mention help secure and hide my speakers.

Re: cst vs non-cst

Since cst's have side panels, the carpet stops there. Non cst carpet will go all the way to the bed side.
Seat frames are the same.
Should be able to find side panel bracket used fairly easy. If not, it would be simple to make.
I haven't seen the side panels yet. When the time comes. I will have to pay the price, to finish my interior.
Tailgates are the same.

Re: cst vs non-cst

thanks everyone for the help, im building this 69 k5 for my dad, he had a red k5 in 69 that his mom(my grandma, never got the chance to meet her) was killed in. so i hope to surprise him with it. i want to do as close as possible to stock other than the reliability of newer drive train

as for the side panels i dont want to make anything that doesnt look close to original. and the steering column is chrome which i dont want, and it also doesnt fit the original steering wheel
