C'mon Help a newbie out!!!

So here's where I'm at. Took a 65 c10 frame and body and pulled the motor out of a 84 suburban C20 a 454 to be exact with the 400 tranny that was with it. Only unfortunate thing is neither one had the original driveshafts. So my question is what type of driveshaft to use Single or dual and what would be a good donor to get it out of. Oh btw measured from the end of the trans to the middle of where the carrier bearing goes and it was like 1ft 4 in and then from carrier bearing to rear end was 3ft 4 in. I'll get some pics on here soon and maybe even a video. Thanks for the help in advance.

My ' 65 swb stepside came from the factory with a one piece driveshaft . Wouldn't think you'd need a two piece with the center support bearing ?

I agree. A one-piece shaft would work fine. Did you get the driveshaft out of the Suburban? You could have that one cut down to size.

short beds only have 1 DS, right guys?

Use the one from the burb, measure the length and have it cut and balanced.

Re: C'mon Help a newbie out!!!

One piece all the way and if you have a long shaft cut it down. Like $60 to do so.
