Cab gas tank hole

So I have a painted cab and a fuel cell in the bed but I don't have a stock tank. I am eventually, going to repaint the cab and at that time I will weld up a patch in the cab, however, for the time being so I can cruise this summer, any ideas for the existing hole?

I was at a car show this past weekend, and a guy there had a blazer tank under the bed of his 70. He cut the nozzle off the old tank behind the seat and secured it in the hole with a new rubber gasket/grommet. It looked like he still ran the factory tank until you looked in the cab behind the bucket seats and there was no tank.

Where's your invention? You're not dumb, you're just not experienced yet! We were all young once, I don't know if I'd rather be young again or old and experienced!

You could use a filler neck off of just about any car or truck as long as it's the same diameter. You might find one at an old shop or simoly take a trip to the junk yard. I would put something in there, some loser could reach through there and unlock your door pretty easy.

fake arm/leg, doll head, adult toy ect. Or go down to a sign shop and have them match the paint w a piece of vynle, slightly more official than a piece of duct tape.

I may leave mine.. and hook it to a smaller 1 gallon tank for water/alky injection

I did this on my '65 Shop Truck, it fits the late 60's - 70's vibe: it is a CB antenna mount. Some people like it some don't. As an old timer I know there was a time when most trucks had CB radios. As my pal Cartman says "Whateva, I Do What I Want".

I used an Astatic 605 Ball style mount. The stock filler neck grommet was used as an isolation bushing by sanding off the upper portion and installing it upside down. A backing plate was made out of a header collector flange I had and it was drilled and tapped to accept the (3) 10-32 stainless screws.
