Really!

This seems like some really high bids for the vehicle. Want to you all think? I'm going to sell mine tomorrow, if I can get that price.

Re: Really!

I have been watching that one too. I agree with you, that price seems inflated even for a 76,000 mile original truck. It will be interesting to see if the winning bidder follows through with the transaction.

Re: Really!

Add is a little misleading, doesnt say "He" bought the truck new, maybe I missed something, he would have to prove the original miles to me.....Way high for a longbed....

Almost everyone of these trucks I have bought had firewall markings.....

Zero feedback and running up the bid. Looks fishy to me.

Re: Really!

lol Wes... I was laughing at that too.
poor photos, just a normal long wheel base small block truck with a couple nice options, no pic of underneath nor the spid...
I'm willing to bet that Mr Zero feedback was him or a friend of his. No way is that truck worth that from the little info and small poor photos posted.
Mean Green, I don't see where he is implying that he is the original owner or makes claim to it. He states that it was bought new on X date at this out of buisness dealership, that's it.

Ridiculous to the point of absurdity. He's still going to have to pay ebay fees. To quote the lister "Wow".

I am so glad I own two! A 69 C10 and a 72 GMC K1500 4X4, both short beds. I'm going to sell them both and buy a small house at those prices!

Re: Really!

A few of us were talking about this one.

My question was how does anyone profit over an ad like this? The seller pays fees...

I don't get it.

And there were two running up the price...

Re: Really!

Two fake accounts to raise the price to get somebody that doesnt know any better to think its rare and to actually buy it for that price. I bet what would happen is if you did place a bid on it youd be out bid right away and itd keep happening no matter how high you went and when the auction ends youll get a email saying the highest bidder backed out and your the runner up for buying the truck....

If both parties agree that the vehicle wasn't sold then no fees are paid. You might have to relist it though? I don't remember, it's been a while since it happened to me. Seller backed out, not me running it up with a fake account I mean... LOL.

This is correct, and exactly why this sort of thing happens on ebay a LOT now. The only fee paid is the original listing fee by the seller (which is not much) There is no final value fee, etc.

Unless he has documented registration data showing the correct miles for nearly 40 years, how can he put in the add "Original Miles" I think that part of the add is misleading....My Longbed has 30K on the speedo, Ill claim its Original Miles cause I put them on there...... Well Probably 130K, maybe 230K who knows......

Re: Really!

If that truck sold for that amount then my bucket has a great chance of getting six figures..

Re: Really!

I called the seller to see if it sold, and of course it did not. He said the buyer told him he entered the wrong amount, but of course it takes two to do that. Very strange.

He said he and his wife nearly had a heart attack.

This is why one needs to do thier homework and not get caught up in the thrill of the moment (auction).
