PO Problems< Paint Questions

The Previous owner Brushed Painted my truck, as you can see the original color is shown on the back, any ideas on how to strip off that paint to see the orginal colors ?

Its going to be really hard to just remove the upper layer without disturbing the original paint. You could very carefully sand off the top layer of paint but I wouldnt get my hopes too high about keeping the original.Maybe someone else can help more.

Thank you, i was really just curious to see what history is hidden, whats hidden, ill try it and see how it goes

You could try removing the gray with lacquer thinner (of course this will only work if the paint is fairly fresh and it was not catalyzed).
Or you can sand it, but like cableguy said, chances are pretty thin that you can stop exactly where the gray paint ends and the original paint begins.

Follow this thread on the volkswagon forum called the samba, they used graffiti removal spray and easy off oven cleaner, might help you.

I would try 150 or higher sand paper on a DA and just go slow, it will work through the paint at a slow rate and you should be able to see the different layers
