8-Lug Wheel Question
1) Does this type of wheel use the same lug nut as the tapered nuts for OEM steel wheels? I'm thinking about picking one up to replace my split-rim spare. 2) Also, as my studs extend only ~3/16" past the nut with steel wheels, will the aluminum wheel work without longer studs? 3) Lastly, will it be too wide to fit in my OEM under-bed spare carrier with a 235/85-16 mounted? Currently have a 7.50-16 on the split rim -- it's about 8" total width and there's not much apparent capability for anything wider. Thanks, guys

I believe those take the bugle style lug nuts. They also have a lot of offset. They make the rim run about 2" inside the fender when I tried one on mine - looked odd.

Thanks for the reply. I could live with the offset, as it would only be a spare (knock wood, I have never needed to use the spare yet).
Never heard of bugle style lug nuts, so I Googled it. What I found looks similar to an acorn style, but the important thing is the seat appears to be tapered, so maybe my OEM tapered nuts will work. (I'd rather not carry around an extra set of lug nuts just for the spare....)

I think the bugle is similar, but the bearing surface is quite a bit larger. Don't know if the taper angle is the same or not, but I think they are.
