68 Bubr Driver door
The driver side door in my 68 Suburban needs to be replaced. Is it posible to make a 68 truck door fit in the 68 suburban, or is not even worth the try. Has anyone done this, using the two doors to make one good door.

Re: 68 Bubr Driver door
I can get both truck doors for 75 each, I saw them, they are complete and look good. The suburban door that I found is 150 bucks and is denver, co. I do not know how much shipping will be to El Paso, TX, but at least 100 if not more. So, if this is posible I will probably get the driver door that I need.
Thanks for your help |

Re: 68 Bubr Driver door
found this for ya....looks like modifications are required due to the back top of the doors being different....burb door is square, pickup door is rounded

Re: 68 Bubr Driver door
Thats what I thought, I know the main difference is the back of the burb is square, and the trucks are rounds, is that the only difference. has someone done this before, where you remove the spot welds from the pilalr and remove the top part and slife it on the other doors.

Re: 68 Bubr Driver door
I have NO experience with it, but since you are in west TX, there's got to be rust free burb stuff over there somewhere....although I am not trying to discourage you from trying......check CL, and have ya tried this parts forum??...I've seen guys use greyhound for shipping too

Re: 68 Bubr Driver door
Its been done here before. Sorry I dont have a link. The doors are exactly the same except for the upper channel area that you are talking about.

Re: 68 Bubr Driver door
What part of the door is damaged that needs to be replaced? You can purchase the outer door skin complete or in sections and the inner door bottom through the vendors on this board. I think that would be the easiest route to go if your having trouble locating burban doors. You can also swap the upper frame between the truck door and the burban door.
