283 heads on a 327 motor
I am getting a free rebuilt but left in the weather with the heads off a 283 engine(block badly rusted), someone is giving me a 327 no heads. So I will have a 327 block and rebuilt 283 heads, can this combonation work for a working motor. Anything else to check or watch for Ed ke6bnl

Should work fine. A lot of the factory heads were used in both applications.

Yes, they will work fine. One thing though, some 283's came with 1.72/1.50 valve heads. You won't get much top end out of these. On the other hand...some came with camel hump heads.
