Saw this and figured I would post it. Looks like a pretty mint truck. 4x4, 292, radio delete, mint red interior, looks like no rust with service records. Price is high, but seems like a decent deal if you are looking for a fine example.

Also found this one:
http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa...77&acctid=1918

Quote:
This vehicle was seized by our agency through the Tennessee Department of Safety on a Narcotics Violation. This truck has quite the unique story behind it which I must reveal to any potential buyers. Once this truck was seized, it was realized that it had the big Chevy Vortec Engine in it. It was then also noticed that this truck was sitting on a newer model frame. The Tennessee Highway Patrol Criminal Investigation Division was called to inspect the vehicle. They were able to reveal that the truck body was actually sitting on a 2000 model Chevy 1500 Pick Up frame and had a 2000 model Chevy Vortec Engine in it. The instrument panel in this truck is also out of the same 2000 Chevy Truck. This 2000 model Chevy 1500 pick up truck had been stolen back in 2004. The individual that owned the truck that was stolen was paid out by Farmers Mutual Insurance. The truck was awarded to our agency through the Tennessee Department of Safety. I hold a legal binding mutual agreement between this agency and Farmers Mutual Insurance that gives this agency permission to sale this truck. The case has been cleared by the Tennessee Highway Patrol CID as well. This truck is a 4-wheel drive and will turn over fine. The truck currently has no battery. The reason I have not actually started the truck is because I didn't want to suck potentially bad gas up into the engine. There isn't much more that I can say about this truck that you can't see in the detailed photos. This truck also has the 2000 model truck wheels on it. Good luck bidding.

**************************************************************************************************** ********************

There is no title for this vehicle. Order from the Department of Safety and Bill of Sale will be provided to buyer. Buyer of this vehicle is responsible to title the vehicle in their respective county or state.

Note: Please inspect items prior to placing a bid. Inspections are by appointment only. See Asset Contact under Seller Information below for phone and email.

ONCE THE ITEM HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THE SELLERS LOCATION; ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

PLEASE REVIEW THE SELLERS TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE.

Re: 69 C26 Fire Bruch Truck Auction in NY

I am making a couple phone calls as we speak...

That be pricey for some of you Yankees, but us Canucks couldn't find one and repair half the rust for that much... Let alone have it look that good and maintained...

I am still set on a long horn.. but this might be the swing factor...

I swear I've seen this truck for sale, before this thread was posted. I may be wrong, or there may be a number of them being offered over time, but it sure looks familiar.

Re: 69 C26 Fire Bruch Truck Auction in NY

I agree, very clean example. Being garaged since new, a big POSITIVE.This truck must have had 2 piece wheels originally, the local tire shop left there mark on it........wagon wheels.........easy fix to 1 piece GM wheels.

Re: 69 C26 Fire Bruch Truck Auction in NY

Someone went crazy with the red paint. I would look it over before buying, maybe the whole truck was repainted. Hopefully it's not hiding anything.

Something is fishy if it doesn't have a title?

Re: 69 C26 Fire Bruch Truck Auction in NY

Actually, A lot of the government trucks I have seen like this have not had titles, either cause it was lost, or it was just not titled. In this case, it wouldn't have a title (NY only titles 73 and newer) and would only have a transferable registration. Since most fire department vehicles don't get registered the same way, it probably is lost or they just don't realize that you just need the registration. Looks like there is an inspection sticker, but no Reg in the window.

Shouldn't be hard to work out getting a title for it, and a phone call to check on the reg would probably solve this issue.

Thanks for the clarification. This I did not know.

How about "decals will be carefully removed so as not to completely destroy an otherwise nice paint job"

Isn't anyone interested in the body swap pickup done by drugies using stolen parts?....no?...Ok then your loss i guess.

Re: 69 C26 Fire Bruch Truck Auction in NY

Man, I wish there was a straight-on picture of under the hood. It has power brakes, but not an off-set air filter. I'd like to see how it is done.

I've heard rumors of a similar truck owned by the Evanston, Wyo. FD that is likely to come on the market soon. Maybe it's the Uinta County, Wyo FD.
