Vss ??

I have a few questions about how to run the vss for a 2008 5.3/4l60e trans set up. I've a 88 k5 blazer np241 t/case wiith the mech speedo. What are you 4x4 guys doing to run the vss for the trans & speedo? I'm looking at putting Autometer gauges in the dash. Can I just get the vss & ring for the 90-91 Blazer/Burb? Or do I need something else.
Thanks

Re: Vss ??

Contact jagsthatrun.com and buy a reluctor ring and speed sensor from them. i cant remember which size you need but what i did was take the tailhousing off of the trans, drilled and tapped it for the speed sensor. then the reluctor ring slides on the tail shaft and is held on with a set screw and so far this has worked for me. the 5.3 is a pretty sweet setup and i know you will be happy with it

Re: Vss ??

Thanks k10sortbox. Are you still running the mech speedo out of the tcase? If you don't mind me asking what kind of gas mileage are getting? what size tires/gears do you have. I've got 31.5/3.73. Looking forward to the swap. Great site for information (A+)

Re: Vss ??

Nope I have all autometer gauges too and i bought an electric speedo, i have been getting 14ish with 35's and 4.10's but im sure if i drove it nicer i could get better haha, mine hasnt been going long so im still deciding if i like the gears that i have in it. its pretty amazing how well they run with this swap.
Good Luck!
