Re: Tilt column question
You talking about the column itself having a wobble to it at all times? Or do you mean to much play in the wheel while driving it?
Here is an excellent write up on the infamous GM column 'wobble' repair. http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...?topic=12525.0

Re: Tilt column question
It's only hard the first time you do it, by the 3rd one it's pretty easy. Here's another link that I found helpful:
http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/088020.html Just take your time, keep your parts organized and be careful.

Re: Tilt column question
I've done the wobble repairs and I've done column swaps. I'd actually say they are both about the same difficulty level. Like anything else, once you've done a few they get easier.

Re: Tilt column question
It's so worth the time to fix the tilt wheel wobble. I used the link mentioned in this thread from the forum last summer. It was like driving a new truck. Go for it...just go slow and take pics as you go. That really helped me.

Re: Tilt column question
I've never done a full rebuild, but have done the wobble repair on many. Nice thing is, once those reverse torx bolts are loc tited in, you won't have to touch it again for a long time.
