How to section/pancake a crossmember.

Does anyone know of a thread that show how to section/pancake a crossmember? What size plate to use? Where and how much do i cut? I have 2 laying around & I am wanting to try it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

I know there is a how to I had it book marked on my old putr that took a dump so I'm in so I can do it on this one....I was going to do mine I have a spare also so I was going to do it put my drop spindles on it and slide the hole thing under my truck

Any news? I came across a crossmember and then i got a drop member so now i have 2 oem crossmembers. id like to give this a try as part of a learn to weld project
