3/4 ton vs. 1/2 ton
Looking into buying a 1969 3/4 ton chevy. A few questions:
1. Are the wheels 8-lug? 2. Will all of the drop suspension components fit a 3/4 ton or just a half ton? Thinking about buying it and the price is right but wanted to ask a few questions first. Truck has a 292 ci. 6 cylinder. Thank you in advance for the help!! |

I don't know about drop suspension components, however yes the wheels on a 3/4 ton would be an 8 lug pattern.

8 lug, yes. Much larger brakes too.
Drop springs will work fine, if you want spindles, they are harder to find and much less choices, and while I don't KNOW this, I'm sure they cost more. Air ride stuff replaces springs, so I'm sure most if not all the air ride stuff would work. This is all assuming we are talking coil rear, and not leaf. |

Yes they are 8 lug wheels.
The 1/2 ton suspension components are different. Lowering a C20 can be done and I suggest you read through this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=435889 You can buy drop springs and drop front spindles for a C20.

1/2 ton coils fit right in place of 3/4 ton springs. HD springs in a 1/2 ton are actually 3/4 ton pieces.
