One more PS question - help please!
On the pic below with my power steering gear there are grooves then a gap and then more groves. Are the grooves closest to the steering gear for the rag joint and the outer grooves for sliding into the steering column shaft?

The whole rag joint assembly will slide on to the splines and then the steering column shaft will bolt to the rag joint assembly. Hope this helps ya..

it does, thanks a ton! I thought for sure the shaft would go into the other. No wonder a good rag joint is so important for safety.
