muncie nose cone ?

....got the muncie m-21 together but didnt have a nose cone..i always heard that the saginaw nose cones bolt right on...but it dont fit on mine..bolt holes dont even line up...does anybody know if maybe its to new of a saginaw nose cone or maybe to old of a muncie..its a 63 or 64.??????????i hope i dont have to go looking for a 1963 muncie nose cone.....

'67 was the last year for the shorter SM 420. In '68 production lines were bolting on the SM465. There are differences in size and gearing between the two. The 420's shorter size and lower transitional gear ratios made it a popular junkyard score for Jeepers trying to improve their rigs. If you're trying to mount an earlier tranny in a '70 truck, you may have more than a simple bolt in.

The saginaw front bearing retainer wont work on your muncie. If you are swapping saginaw to saginaw, the truck 3 spd retainer will fit on the 4spd saginaw, to use the 68 & later truck bell. For the M 20,21,&22 use a 67 or older truck bell for the proper sized centerhole in the bell(4.683). the 68 & later trucks have a 5.126 hole in the bell. Good luck,crazyL

got a nose cone today so i can finally finish it up and get it in the truck......thanks again guys
