Cross Over Pipe

Anyone run a cross over pipe or X-pipe on their exhaust system,i have a 57 and theres like no space to do that without having the pipe directly under the transmission.I'm running a crate motor 350/330 and just wondering if its even nessary to have the cross over pipe at all?

I usually put the crossover behind the trans. at the front of the driveshaft. You don't need one it's up to you, it mellows out the exhaust note. If you use flowmaster type muffles use a crossover not an X pipe, Flowmaster tech. told me that.

That would make it easier to use just a cross over pipe and at the front of the drive shaft would be the prefect spot,thanks.

I will second that!

I did that on my 53 and it made a great difference in sound and low end power. go for it

I went behind the trans on mine. I used a thermal wrap on it to protect the joint.
