Requested pics from N2TRUX
I was wondering if you have or could take a couple pics of your truck aired up , at ride height , and aired out . I am interested in seeing how much travel you have in it .

Here's one set. I tried to shoot this from the same spot in both pics. Unfortunately I did not have my camera on a tripod.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
This is probably pretty close to ride height up front. It might be just a little high though. I "think" I bumped the front up when pulling in my driveway which makes the rear look a little lower than usual.
Pics- Top- Ride Height + a little Bottom- Ride Height - a little

so Ken, your truck sits on the bumpstops when it's aired out?...do you have spindles up front to help?

Here are some pics with the AOL system on it. This was taken before Roger installed the Ride Tech 4 link.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Just like everyone else, I never remembered to take any "before and after" measurements. I do know that the Ride Tech "Muscle Bar" restricts the upward travel a slight bit. Nothing that has an impact on ride or performance, just something I could see the difference in.
The opposite effect happened in the rear. The Ride Tech 4 link allows me to go just a bit lower. I could go down just a bit more, but the rear shocks need to be replaced to make that happen.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Since I am in the sharing mood, here are a couple of bonus pics. This is with a set of Coys I borrowed from n2billet. The first one is 20's all around. Of course it looks odd since it's two front tires. The next is a 20/22 combo. I had to try it, but didn't like the look at all. The wheels are sweet but the 20/22 stagger on my truck, not so much.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Thanks Ken .
From my perspective it looks like the rear sits lower and raises to at least the same height or higher with the new setup. The front sits at about the same height when aired out with both systems but will rise higher with the old setup .I think I could do the AOl setup with good results but the rear Airbar setup would work with factory front suspension and save me a little coin . I like the rear tires tucked with the new system . I imagine a bolt in notch would accomplish this with the AOl also . Any difference in ride quality with the new setup? Frank

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Post #3 shows the difference the stance makes . Same truck, wheels , location etc but at two different ride heights . Totally changes the look of the truck . Top pick is a nice truck and bottom pic is just awesome .
Does that word (awesome) show just how old I am? Frank

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Frank the AOL system worked just fine and I would not hesitate to recommend it to you. I know you are a picky sort and I don't feel I would be steering you wrong.
The Full Ride Tech Tubular system is really, really nice. If you want to spend the money, it's a very clean "bolt in" system that has no compromise it fit, finish and quality of materials. The AOL system works very well, but the rear does have limited travel. What that means is we had to add a 2" block to get the ride height and air pressure where we wanted it. Essentially we had to mechanically tune the rear suspension. The end result was a rather narrow "sweet spot". The 4 link has a greater range of motion and offer much more flexibility in ride height. You can raise it higher and not be close to your limits, so you have a broader range of air pressure settings to choose from. There doesn't appear to be much difference on the outside, but mechanically there is a lot of difference.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
I missed your question. I'm not sure which pic you are asking about. I do have 3" spindles in the front. I also have custom made bumpstops that allow the truck to roll when aired out. What that means is if I removed the stops it would sit about 1" lower up front. If I removed the inner fenders it might sit another inch lower as well.
For reference, this is a pic of my 82 Blazer crossmember with the same height tires as my 77 with the inner fenders removed.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Ken,
I am sure you have an idea on what your rear drop equalls when it is on the bump stops . Would 8" be close . I have a shackle and hangar kit I have had for years which would give 4" and I thought I could use the same leafs I used on the buckskin truck for another 4" to total 8" of drop. Add an AOL kit to lift it up and I would have some adjustment. I also have a set of 52" springs I could use with the axle flipped and add a block like yours . I just wonder how 8" would look in the rear and if it would be close to the bump stops? I am going to look through your threads at your setup. As far as air bag kits go ,do most people recommend the Airpod setup? Frank

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Mine is 8" down in the back... and there really isn't anymore room left for travel; I've actually trimmed the bump stops just a bit for more clearance. Mine is not C-notch either... yeah some will knock it... but I also dont us it as a DD... which I'm sure you won't be either.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Ken , I cant find the link to your original build to get the specs on the initial Air suspension install. Can you tell me what brand the parts below were? Still have the AOL mounts?

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Here's a pic... not the best thou. Like I said there isn't much room 1"-1.5". I removed the stops at one time but then the axle banged against the bracket. Now its just a tight ride... I should c-notch it.. but it really doesn't bother me. Anyways... I did a 4" dearch, 2" drop shackle, removed the overload spring and another spring to get the tire to tuck.

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
The AOL mounts are from Ride Tech. The flip kit and shackle were DJM, and the blocks came from PEP boys..

Re: Requested pics from N2TRUX
Mine is probably close to 8" lower in the back also. It is a flip kit on factory HD leaves, and WC shackles. It's C notched, and Scoti built a set of brackets for air bags on top of the springs that can be aired up to haul something. He had towed with it, but I haven't done that yet. I did have an engine, trans, hoist, stand, and a bunch of stuff from work in it and it did great, though.
