Re: How do you

With a timing light....

O.K., all kidding aside, to set the timing you must unplug the set timing connector, which is a single Tan wire with a black stripe/tracer on it. On some years the set timing wire is tan with a white stripe/tracer.

On your 95, I'm thinking it's located under the glove box inside the cab. Should be a single wire with a connector. Unplug, then set your base timing to "0", then plug wire back in. This will probably set a code you will need to clear out. Hope this helps.

Re: How do you

R.R., do you have a service manual like a Chilton or Haynes? It details exactly how to do it.

Re: How do you

Ok I set the timing as the book said. It still backfires when driving. and gets where it will not run at all. Any suggestion!

Re: How do you

What all did you do to it before you decided to mess with the timing?

Do you have any plug wires messed up?

Re: How do you

Had to pull the distributor to install a pickup coil. It runs fine until it gets to normal operating temperature.

Re: How do you

Where should the timing mark be after setting to "0" and the wire plugged back in?

Re: How do you

Unplug the wire set it to 0 and plug it back in and the computer will do the rest.
