WIW:: 65 - 66 factory tilt column, automatic??
We have someone with a tilt column for an automatic from a 1966 C10. The column is in factory, unmolested condition. has not been cobbled on, has factory turn signal harness intact. Color is a gray/beige??? Any ideas on it's value?? He is wanting to sell it but we have no idea what it is worth. Thanks, Fred

I am highly doubtful that it is really from a C10, tilts didnt come in trucks until 71 or 72. if it is an automatic column shift from a 64-66 and unrestored but in good shape, it could be worth upwards of $300 to the right person.
Can you show me a pic? Also the columns from the big cars of that era look strikingly similar to the C10 columns, some of the parts interchange and the wheels will fit on either.

never seen a tilt in a 66 in my life and i grew up with these trucks.probably came from a later model truck.

Could be a mid 60s Impala/Caprice column. Still real valuable, and it would be an awesome thing to retrofit into one of our trucks. Painted the factory fawn color with the Deluxe wheel.....how cool would that be?

Did you have to modify the Impala column at all? I was thinking of doing this, but I don't want to lose my parking brake.

I trimmed a little of the outer to make it fit better into the dash. Post #8 on my build thread shows some pics. I used the original brackets. My biggest expense was the adaptor for the Dino wheel. But I am going to change to an old school wooden one. Post # 33 shows the universal I used on the splined end- from Summit if I remember right and then used a Kugel linkage down to the 350TH.
