Hello everyone.

New to the forum. I have a 1966 C10 LWB with a LY6/6L90 engine and transmission from a 2007 Silverado 2500. Near future plans include a Vintage Air AC system and shaved tail gate chains. Further in the future plans are for Air Ride.

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking for the mounting dimensions for the tail gate hinges on the 67-72 trucks. I purchased a set from classic industries and will be using them on my 66 to shave the chains. I need the dimension from the top of the bed to the first bolt hole on the bed side and the dimension from the top of the tail gate to the pin on the tail gate. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys for the welcome. I hope u can help out. Tried C10forum.com but haven't had any luck. I was trying to find one locally but owner's are not around to ask permission to take measurements.

I've got some measurements for you.....

From the top of the bedside to the center of the top bolt is 4-1/2"

From the top of the tailgate to the center of the pivot pin for the arms is 9-3/8"

From the top of the tailgate to the center of the top bolt on the latch is 4-5/8"

Everyone, thank you for the welcome. I will try to get pics posted up. I'm just bad at taking them. Anytime I do a conversion I just seem to want to get it done so I can enjoy the truck.

Here are some crappy phone pics of the truck. It needs quite a few things. A bath is definitely one of them. Also needs an altitude adjustment and a good paint job (eventually).

With that engine in there it must be fun to drive. How's your gas mileage?

It is fun so far. Still working out the bugs. Put a modified PCM/TCM tune that smoothened it out. Problem is getting the power to the ground. It will still spin the tires when your goin 30 mph and punch the gas. As for gas mileage, it's up 2 miles per gallon on street driving, haven't confirmed freeway yet. I'm shooting for 20 mpg on highway once I change the rear gears out. With the transmission I have now, I only need 3.08's to match what I had in the previous combination.

I don't think he needs A/C in san Diego Ca. Ocean breeze there..
