I think it's very cool. I especially like the skirts, giving it even more character. Although in reality they would probably never have been found on a military vehicle.

I am actually debating this myself.....
It's hard because I love yellow and chrome on these trucks!
I would have to change my Project Full Metal Yellow Jacket to Project PT-62
But here is my other inspiration Bud.......
May still do this.....
This truck is so SICK!
I love the tail lights!

Re: Military Tribute Paint Job?

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
theres actually a guy that lives down the road from me, although its a f*rd, hes got the american flag over the whole truck with tons of american icons on it including the statue of liberty, uncle sam, rosie the riviter and just alot of other iconic americana painted on the truck.
i think your idea is absolutely amazing and being in a family where most of us are in the service i think it is an just stelar way of showing your support!
really cool idea man.

Re: Military Tribute Paint Job?

Looks like a cool plan. Only thing I'd change is to put "USMC" on it....

(but seriously... you could actually fade the words USMC and GMC together with some fancy air brushin. I'm just sayin)

You could call it the "Jimmery Sergeant"

And another off the wall idea - make a subdued shadow of the POW MIA patch that covers your entire bed floor - maybe paint it's outlines on, then stain over it for a cool effect.

Re: Military Tribute Paint Job?

These made me think it would be cool to make First Sergeant Taillights with blue dots. I think the sergeant emblems would look good on the cowl panel ends or pull the C10 emblem and put them there, a more prominent place than the back bed panel.

Re: Military Tribute Paint Job?

Here's a way to incorperate an American Flag in the emblem (easier said then done).

Re: Military Tribute Paint Job?

That would be pretty cool. Maybe you could put some jerry cans in the step spaces.
