Engine Died Out

Hey Guys,

I was driving and the engine shut off. I pulled over and tried to turn it over and just cranked. Sounded fine but did not turn over. I waited five minutes tried to turn it over again and it did for maybe half a second sounding perfect then it just shut off instant with no weird sounds. How do I start to diagnosis this?

Re: Engine Died Out

find out what your missing.. Spark or fuel. My bets on ignition module.. They like to quit all of a sudden and then work again once its cooled off.

Re: Engine Died Out

before you go after the fuel pump if it is a no gas situation, check your fuel filter

Re: Engine Died Out

I had spark and fuel. So I just starting giving everything a once over and noticed some kind of vacuum connector unhooked just under the qjet on the engine.

The truck started and everything worked just fine once I reconnected. It's just loose and can pull right out. What is this piece and is it supposed to just pull out like that?

Here are some pics of how it looked connected...

And unhooked...
