Weatherstripping install question

I just bought new door weatherstripping for my 1971 Cheyenne. Does the weatherstripping simply push into place ... or does it require the use of something like 3M Weatherstrip Adheasive to hold it in place?

It depends on which type of weatherstripping you ordered. Original weatherstripping glues on and the Dodge Dakota or S-10 replacement type pushes on.

Re: Weatherstripping install question

Does the weatherstripping from an S-10 fit the 67-72 trucks? I imagined smaller truck would have smaller or shorter piece of weatherstripping.

Some of the guys on the board have used the S-10 stuff but I have never used it myself.

Questions and answers from a previous thread....

“So my question is who makes the best aftermarket door-to-cab seals? Any help would be appreciated...Casey”

Dodge makes the best ones... '87-'97 Dodge Dakota, pick 'em up at your local salvage yard. You can find some nice ones for 5-10 bucks per pair. The nice thing is they are slip fit, you don't have to glue them on. Be sure to get the connector that joins them at the seam. Sometimes it falls out when you remove them. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and a prybar. You have to cut about 3" off the length...

“Do they fit the upper front corner, the Mitered corner on the windshield post or do you have to cut them? Thanks!”

All I did was bend it a little and push it into the corner really good, then put a little upward pressure on it as I worked my way on down the jamb...
