Thumbs up Drive shafts

I rarely have anything good to say about alot of the suppliers we have to deal with. Either the price is to high, the quality to low or lousey customer service located off shore in India where no one speaks English.
WELL, this has changed a bit where drive shafts are concerned. I recently aquired an 84 S10 long bed BUT the drive shaft was junk. I figured it was joints or the center bearing was bad. Sent it out thru NAPA to a place in Albany NY who told me (after replacing the joints and bearing) the shaft couldn't be repaired. That cost me $160. They said they could make me a new shaft for $1200, $800 for a one piece. No deal, I went and got the shaft. I went looking on the computer and found a place in Tulsa OK. Called them and they would build me a 1 piece for $275. Got the shaft and put it in, smooth as glass. All parts were brand new end to end, and only 1 tiny balance weight.
If you need a drive shaft, these are the people you want to make it. They ask lots of questions beforehand. The company name is "Drive Shafts Inc." Thier phone number is 888-823-1697. My sales persons name was Kyle. The turn around time was less than a week. A good MADE IN THE U.S.A. product at a fair price delivered in a timely manner. jim

Re: Drive shafts

thank you for this information....the shop we had around here became a victim of high rents and closed..considering the last driveshaft i needed was prolly 15 years ago and it cost me $110 then, this sounds quite reasonable given inflation and all

Re: Drive shafts

Same with Drive shafts Inc, ALL American parts and they pay the shipping. $340 is right there in the ball park. I don't know the name of the place in Albany NY, but if I find it out I'll post it for sure so you all will know who not to deal with. I don't know where they get off charging such outragious prices. I do know there isn't another shop within 100 miles. jim
