60's truck with 70's front crossmember questions??

i have a 63 longbed c20....will continue to update build as progress happens...i picked up a 75 and later front end from a c10 suburban...i ordered drop spindles and bags for front....questions:

-does any one have this set up with pics?
-if not how low do you pro's think the truck will get aired out?
-if i want the cross member to lay on ground will the lowers need to be cupped?

thanks for the help

Re: 60's truck with 70's front crossmember questions??

I have a setup out of an 83 in my 65. With 20" wheels the front cross member is 2" off the ground with the bags dumped. My lowers are not cupped. What limits mine is the inner fenders. There is lots of information on this swap in the suspension section.

Post up the tire height (or size) when you reference a wheel diameter so that the info being shared can be interpeted accurately.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 60's truck with 70's front crossmember questions??

My Suburban is bagged 2.5 spindle 1 5/8" tall lower bag cups Slam SS7 bags. the front arms are at least 2" from hitting. 255/60/15 tire on 6.5" van rallys. I can roll aired out and still have full steering. which I like if a bag or line ever let me down.
