67 c10 with 5 speed s10 tranny questions
i have a 67 c10 that i am putting a 292 straight 6 in and i think it would be nice with a 5 speed s10 tranny. I am wondering what years s10s' had five speeds and what the compatibility would be. Any information or input would be great guys!

Check the FAQ area, under engines IIRC. There are a couple very good write ups on just that.

Re: 67 c10 with 5 speed s10 tranny questions
you would want the 4.3 model the years for those started in mid year 88 and stayed in till the end of production run 03 [04 s10's were built but they were 4wd]. The earlier 5 speed would be from the 2.8 engine and the bellhousing from a 305 camaro would work. but I would stay with the one from the 4.3 as it was a light duty truck trans basicly the same as in the 1/2 ton 5 speed trucks[fullsize] from 88-07 with a few changes.

Re: 67 c10 with 5 speed s10 tranny questions
look for the "square body" s10 5spd or an 80's camaro, the square body also. i dont know much about the round body s10s, but i do know that the square body 5spd is called a t5 and all you need is an old manual trans bell housing for it and it will bolt up. i was looking at buying a friends t5 out of his 86 s10 and putting it in the 71 elcamino i used to have and make it a "pro touring" car.

I installed one in my '67 with a 250 6 cyl. I love it... My '67 had a 4 speed from the factory. Here is a decent thread on the swap. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=434512 LockDoc

I've got a 68 C20 with a 292 and an 83 Camaro T5 in mine that works great. When I got the truck, it had a 1980 Camaro Saginaw 4 speed. To run the Camaro transmissions you will probably need bucket seats do to the shifter location.
