pull a part find
I got a Hurst floor shifter for the 3 speed out of a '70 c-10 Saturday for just under $17. Someone had already pulled the trans out and driveshaft. My brother got the driveshaft for his '65 and the trans for a racing buddy. It has the wider rear end, but I could not get the bolts to break loose. We sprayed it with PB Blaster, then sprayed it again, pulled on it and nothing. Got tired of it and just left it.

Re: pull a part find
Could you heat it with a torch? Or could you cut the bolt off with the torch? (BAD way to do things)

Re: pull a part find
I had the cheater to fit over a rachet, but it would not fit the wrench. The nut is 1-1/8" and I didn't have a deep well socket for it. Probably a good thing though because the guy that drilled my brother's axles just sold his machine shop and accepted the call as a full time pastor for a church. He had been their interim, but they called him last week. He always did work for CHEAP for me and my brother. Now I will come out the same just buying a '71 or '72 to get the 5 lug.
