Re: 1929-32 Chevrolet 6 Cyl Head needed!
good luck. I will ask around but not many companies are willing to rebuild them when they are that old. May have to send it off somewhere to have it done if you find one. Might post on Hemmings or Classic Car Club of America.
might get a better response since this area is new to the forum but I will look here is one from hemmings http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...d/1217672.html http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...d/1216508.html Last edited by mbgmike; 05-13-2011 at 06:51 PM. |

Thanks Mike, that is all I ask, for someone to ask people they know.
I have two heads, both are cracked pretty bad and the machine shop doesnt think they will be able to salvage anything. I found another one up north, had a friend go and buy the whole motor, pull it and take the motor and head to a trusted machine shop, guess what? it was also cracked and cant be fixed. blew through $1K real fast for nothing, well I did get a good block. but I already had one.

If I end up keeping my 1932 Chevrolet Pick-Up then it will be getting the L79 327 I have. It has a running and driving Engine and Transmission in it that will have to come out. I will keep you posted.

Re: 1929-32 Chevrolet 6 Cyl Head needed!
LeftCoast,
My machine shop was able to repair another head I found. the motor is all back together and is on the hook to go back into my dad's 1930 2door sedan. Thanks for thinking of us. BTW, be careful on how much HP you put into that truck, these had wood in them and too much HP will rattle them apart, only small nails holding them together. I know you were trying to sell it. I would hold onto that and attempt to sell it all together, you would get more offers that way, but that is me and it is your truck. thanks again! I know in Oklahoma there is a big prewar swapmeet and that is where I would try to sell it.
