Installed a Mooneyes slotted 15" steering wheel. Old pic and new pics.It never ends...everytime I open the garage door I find something else I want to do to the truck.

Nice! The 3 spoke design is very close to the factory GM wheel but with more 'bling' and a thicker rim.

Is Mooneyes stuff really that expensive...

I paid $86 bucks total for wheel/horn cap but that included shipping and $20 bucks for the Grant steering wheel install kit. It is a very solid steering wheel and I got the vinyl wheel not the foam.

They have a cheap Grant steering wheel similiar to this design but the quality of the cheap Grant wheel shows by the weight and feel of it.

I've been looking at this exact wheel as well as the other black Mooneyes one that is done the same way as their metalflake wheels. I like the hard vinyl of the metalflake series one, but was wondering... is your wheel rim hard or have some squish to it?

Also, the one you picked has a two inch dish compared to 3.5 of the other one, which is a consideration for me.

...and to answer mac808 - yes, Mooneyes stuff is usually reeeeaaallllly spendy. But there wheels are not bad at all and as greenbd71 said, it is good quality stuff.

Looks great! Now I only need to decide which one....

It's hard vinyl with no give. I like this one because you don't want the steering wheel any closer. Not much room between you and the steering wheel as it is in these trucks.

The wheel looks great. A great alternative to the cheap looking Grant, and the expensive reproduction GM wheels ($225 or so).

Love the console. Have literally been thinking of one like that for about a month now. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw yours...it was like you read my mind.

I have my cd player in the dash, so the only holdup to building it has been figuring out what to do with the large surface heading up to the dash. The flat section at the seat will have two cup holders and a small recess to hold my cellphone.

That's not too bad, considering it is 'Moon'. I thought it would be way more than that.

Good to know DC. I'm a firm believer in the 'you get what you pay for' theory and I know you gotta pay to play to get true quality stuff. $86 sure is a good price, though, and doesn't break the bank by any means.

This may be my next 'gts' (gift to self)mod.

Just make sure the horn button is secured really really good, I had a grant kit on mine and the button popped off and the horn went off in the middle of the nite,,,,(neighbors were not happy

) Cops had to wake us up......
