Took the truck for a ride and notice after few minutes on the parking lot , that was water leaking from the radiator ( the hose conected to the top )

open the cap and really the water is there,,,maybe 2 inches under the cap

Any idea?

Re: 69 GMC radiator question

If its leaking, its not normal. Id replace the radiator hose and see if that doesnt help. It may not be overheating now, but you dont want to be stuck in traffic on a hot day with a blown hose or water pump.

Re: 69 GMC radiator question

That's normal. It finds it's own level. Enough for expansion.

Re: 69 GMC radiator question

it is normal, the fluid only needs to cover +1" over the coils in most cases. a little expansion room is good. also condensation will come out of the overflow tube if real cold or hot outside.

Re: 69 GMC radiator question

When it finally stops dripping check and see what the level is. Keep it full to that point.

Re: 69 GMC radiator question

Good looking GMC!

If it bothers you it is easy enough to install an overflow tank. As has been mentioned it is normal for the radiator to spit some fluid out if it is over filled.
