Anyone running a MOON style tank in the box?
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone was running a MOON tank or MOON style tank in the box of their truck, and how they like it? I was looking at going that way as the fuel cell behind my rear axle is bumming me out. The previous owner installed a fill neck on it that comes into the rear fenderwell, right behind the tire(like right behind, it almost touches). Its a pain to get down on 1 knee to fill it, and the only way I can tell the cell is full is when it runs out the vent and onto the ground at the gas station. I was considering just replacing the cell with another and adding a trap door to my box floor, but I wanted to see if anyone else is running a MOON style tank. Thanks everyone.

I'd fix the filler prob with your tank before I took up valuable space in my bed. I'm using the stock filler setup out of a 90s fullsize chevy. Cut the fillerdoor an a few extra inches of surrounding metal and welded it in the side of my bed above the body line. It does take up a couple of inches in the corner of my bed.
I talked to a guy w a filler in his bed he had all kinds of junk in his clear fuel filter. |

Not in the bed, but one on each side.

I'd take care of the filler problem. To me,putting a tank in the bed is halfass,no matter how cool it looks.

Is that your truck? I like it. Where did you get the flat bed? |

Instead of putting the filler in the bed floor, consider putting it on the inner bed panel just behind the rear tire. You could position the filler high up,just under the bed rail and would have easy access for filling.I have a stepside truck that I'm gonna do this to soon.I'll try to make a photo that shows what I'm talking about.
