This is shaun. I'm kinda new to the board so sorry if I post this wrong or whatever

Ok here we go I have a 86 c-10 shortbed and I wanna make a short dually out of it.
I got a dana 70 outta an 81 c-30 already I'm wondering about front suspension. I
Don't know what all parts I need. I was thinking maybe just one ton ball joints, spindles
And hub or do I need all control arms too or do I need the whole crossmember. This
Truck is just for show I won't haul anything or nothing. So any help would be amazing
Also what about the brakes what would I need to swap? Has anybody done this swap at all
To any truck help me out please. My plan is a 2wd shortwide dually on 19.5 bread truck
Wheels. O ya its a 400 smallblock with th350 and 3.73 10bolt posi and its a custom deluxe

You'll need @ least the 1-ton a-arms, ball-joints, & spindles (the x-member will inter-change). The brakes will be stock 1-ton.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: c-10 to c-30 suspension swap please help

Thanks scoti for all the good info. Went to wrecking yard this a.m. And got bored unbolting parts and I wanted to try my new torch handle so I hacked the whole from 4 foot of front frame from an 80 c-30 crew. Went to orielys and got new upper and lower ball joints and all new poly bushings got ordered. I also got new tie rods , brake rotors, calipers , pads , booster, master cylinder, and new prop valve. I also got a case of brake clean. And so scaling wheels for my grinder and oprdered some grey hammer tone paint. Cost a lot but it will be worth it. I will be documenting this build on here it will take me a while since all the work will be done in my drive way. O ya I gotta go back to the truck I got the front from and I'm gunna grab the booster brackets off the cab just in case. It also has a good dash pad that is rare so ima gunna steal that too! Next ima work on getting the brake lines figured out. I'm cleaning the rear axle I already have today maybe gotta be at work by 4 but who knows. I'm gunna try to get all the parts together before I decommission my truck for the swap to minimis down time. Gotta find my 19.5 steels wheels and tires and ordermy dually fenders from arrowcraft (gunna do that next week). So we shall see how long it takes me. I will try to get some pics soon. Thanks again scoti
