Re: Steering wheel size

This is what I used...15" Left hand does tend to hit the turn signal stalk, but it's a minor adjustment.

Re: Steering wheel size

You might also check into the Chevelle/Camaro/Vette 3-spoke cushion grip wheel. It kinda gives a factory look and it's only 15" I wish I had a pic to show you, but I don't. Maybe someone will chime in with one.

Re: Steering wheel size

The factory wheel was an issue for me as with my big belly I was not comfortable with it then I chenge the column to a tilt one and went with a 73- steering wheel then I switched to an 88-95 chevy truck wheel which is the one I have now and it looks pretty good in there. I even had a grant steering wheel at the very beginning, steering wheel has been a pain for me to find out that I like even though I lost close to 40 pounds so now I wish I had my original one back on..

Re: Steering wheel size

Musicman, that wheel looks great, has an "older" look after you re-did it. Whats the wheel from, how did you hook it up?

Street Smart, Thanks. The wheel is from a 93 GMC Safari Van; 15"

I don't have a tutorial but I do have some pics of the wiring. A part of the plastic needed to be trimmed (pics 2,4) for the wheel to fit properly.

Also the Plunger mechanism (brass ring) for the horn had to be dismantled and inverted(I think), spliced and fed through the hole, to spade connector(added by me) to the horn button itself. The plunger has a constant metal contact with that ring via an internal spring. Also removed the Turn-signal arm and carefully bent it back a bit.

I just sorta worked it out on my own and only took these few pics of the end wiring. Hope this helps.

Re: Steering wheel size

14" billet wheel works great with power steering. I've had them in several trucks with no problems.

I know mine has 3 bolts that hold it on and a hole for the horn wire. The 3 holes are in a triangle shape. You may need an adapter kit. Or as many holes as that one has it could be universal fit. Hope that helps

Re: Steering wheel size

The wheel Music man 70 said was from Astro/Safari van was also available on the S/T trucks and Blazers from 86 When they changed the dash from the flat to the one with the cluster "bump" on it to 93[86-93] the plainer models had them and If I knew then [20 something years ago] when I was building the S trucks by the ton that those wheels would come in handy I'd saved more of them. The same goes for the 88-94 sport wheel [4 spoke] that lots like to use on their trucks. I probably threw a hundred of them in a dumpster when I got rid of most all of my 88-98 parts. DUH. Jim

Talking Re: Steering wheel size

Here is a Corvette wheel. I took it off in favor of a 67 SS Chevelle wheel though.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
