Wow!! $611 NOS Van Radio

Can you believe a '72 vintage NOS VAN radio is at $611 on Ebay?

That's are pretty good indicator of the health of our hobby. Lots of demand for too few goods.

Guess those $600 "exact replica" digital tuning radios that you can plug an iPod into don't seem so pricy now...

Re: Wow!! $611 NOS Van Radio

I feel you guys on the price. Very expensive. E-bay can be a monster. I know it's a van radio, but on the other hand, how many of you out there have seen a 72' NOS AM/FM radio with all that equipment. It must be really rare. Even in today economy, there are still quite a few folks (not me) with a lot of dough. And they won't think twice about getting what they want for there collection.

Re: Wow!! $611 NOS Van Radio

That price is not to far out of line for one that should be plug and go. I have bought several radios for $200-$300, then spend another 2-$300 going through them and getting them ready to go.

Re: Wow!! $611 NOS Van Radio

The only problem I see is that it is listed as a truck radio and no mention of "van". A N.O.S. van radio is valuable, too. But,I figure those bidding don't know better and believe they are bidding on a true truck radio. Has anyone sent a question to the seller to point out what it really is?

Did you read the ad at all. He spent most of it telling that it was a van radio that he made look like a truck radio.

Yes,I read the ad at all, just not entirely. He didn't mention it in the heading, but I'm sure anyone willing to pay the price has read it through. If not, shame on them. I stand corrected. I'm just used to seeing misleading listings on Ebay and usually those are the ones that get this type of thread.
