Finally got the '76 Running again.

Had it running initially a week ago, decided to switch the cam and intake around for a different setup. Idling at 1200rpm.

Re: Finally got the '76 Running again.

with your timming set up right and carb working good.800 and600-700 in gear is nothing un common. 1200 is way to high even in park

With the way you said it, you seemed to mean 600-700 in park.

Re: Finally got the '76 Running again.

Sounds a bit rowdy . I like it .What cam is in it ? Have you hooked up the torque converter yet? Doesnt sound like it . If not it will definitely tame it down a little.
I used to have a 77 in highschool that I drove for a while with the same exhaust setup. Only diff was that I had Dynomax Turbo mufflers. That thing was unbearable at 35-45 mph in drive.

Frank, Torque converter is hooked up. It's a summit 1107 cam.

The plan is to run tailpipes out the back. Thats still in the works though. As I have to drop the bed, detail the chassis, install the flip kit, the front drop springs. Button all of that up. R&I the rockers, cab corners and install the new doors, fenders, hood and core support.
