New Member Olive Green 69

Hey Guys, Im new to the Chevy truck forum. Been lurking a bit. Just a aqquired a New to me 69 SWB Stepside. 250 with three on the tree. Been looking for one of these for a while. My dad had the same truck ina 67 dark green. Its all original. I need to figure out what Hubcaps belong on it and what mirrors belong on it. I hopeto restore it back to its original hayday. It has Black wheels on it now and one aluminum drivers mirror. But they may have been changes. It has White bumpers. It also has the factory 825-15 tire code option. So I dont know if that changed the hubcaps to something other than the usual white. Dd the white hubcaps have blue or gold bowties n 69? It the brochure it looks like it had gold. But I thought this change was made in 73.

Also I have many of the repair panels alrady from the PO. It needs in and outer rockers. I have the Back half of the Outer Floors from the PO. Does the Front half floor pans have the inner rocker attached to them? Will that complete the whole inner rocker if I get two front pans?

Thanks Guys!

Awesome truck! It reminds me of mine when I started on it. My 69 had white wheels with the white hub caps. The hub caps had the blue bow tie on them. As for the mirror, mine had one single mirror on the driver side.

Hey blkcorvair ...

and from Ohio. At one time I owned a 66 Corsa conv. Fun car but I sold it when I started to raise a family. Now I am into classic trucks-- ie 67-72 and trucks.

Re: New Member Olive Green 69

Thanks guys. Yes. I am excited. My Blk Corvair is long gone now. I think 13 years or so gone. But it was fun. Had bunchs of stuff in between, but this one has been waiting for me. It needs from the rockers down. Floor edges inner cab corners and outers. But the bed and everything from the rocker up is very solid. I remember my dad's 67 having rot around the drip channels years ago and this one still has all the original paint intact. Eventually I think a full frame off resto is in the cards. But for now Id like to fix the bad cancer and enjoy it...

BTW. In Shoreham Long Island

Yes if you already have the rear outer floor pan then all you need is the front pan and that will complete the inner rocker. They also make an entire outer pan that runs the length of the floor and does the front and rear in one piece, might be the way to go if it works for you. I did mine separately but then again i didn't know they made this panel

Awesome truck, love that green

Rims white and I'm pretty sure the color of the bowtie on the hood and hubcaps are supposed to match so in your case they should be blue.
