Fuel delivery issue.

I have a '79 SWB bonanza 2WD w/ 350ci/ TH400/ 3.08 12bolt rear. I have built to be a daily driver w/ only slight performance mods. A Sean Murphey Q-Jet delivers the fuel, but I feel that something isn't adjusted correctly.

When I "floor it" it doesn't take off. I can't even chirp the tires. It slowly builds power, but there's no launch. It's not sputtering, bogging, or anything, as a matter of fact it's pretty smooth, but it feels terribly weak. This is true on the highway or city streets as well. I hit the gas hard, and it makes more noise but doesn't really accelerate like every other sbc I've owned. The motor is new, new dual exhaust, new smi q-jet, etc... Any ideas?

I do not have a fuel regulator in line, but I'm using an OEM mech fuel pump.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Fuel delivery issue.

I don't feel as though I'm accessing my secondaries... That's what I meant to say. I feel like I'm stuck in the primaries even when the pedal is all the way down.

Re: Fuel delivery issue.

One thing to check would be to see if your mechanical advance is advancing. Pop the rotor off and see if the weights and all are moving freely.
