difficult measurement
Can anyone figure a way to get me a measurement from the top of the radiator core support (right where the break or slant to the outside starts) to the inside of the hood. Another way of putting it is, what is the clearance from the top of the core support to the inside of the hood... with the hood closed, of course. I cant get it off my truck because the front clip is still off. I want to know if my supercharger tube on the passenger side will clear the hood... before I send it out for coating.

If you were building it for my truck... you'd have about 3" (+/- 1/4") between the top of the grill/radiator support and the hood at the center.
Note: You loose an inch at the outsides of the radiator support, underneath the hood stiffeners that run front to back. ...no warranties stated or implied with this measurement...

Do you mean the core support or the grill? |

The radiator support. LMC calls it a Grille/Radiator support.

I've checked hood clearance on an air cleaner by putting clay in a plastic bag on top. Close and open the hood then measure the clay. If someone could do this maybe they could post the measurement for you.

Mine doesn't have inner fenders so I could get in there to measure. Right at the pinch on the support where it turns down I had 3.25" to the hood going straight up. That pinch is about 1/4" high.

Often you can use a regular retractable tape measure to obtain these types of measurements. Use a clamp to fasten the tape measure to a fixed object, pull out the tape and lock it. Slowly close the hood, the tape will be pushed back into the tape measure. Pop the hood and read the clearance.
