Re: peel n seal pics FINALLY

I heard about this stuff a while back on here, I plan on doing mine soon. I hear that its pretty inexpensive and you can get it at home depot, lowes, etc. By the way that turned out great!

Re: peel n seal pics FINALLY

It's a building product, used to seal waterproofing around windows and doors. It's cheap, self adhesive and is a kind of neoprene.

oh yeah, install looks really nice.

Re: peel n seal pics FINALLY

thanks fellas
IMO i think its just as good as brown bread which i used many moons ago in a hatch back
found it a lowes for 17 bucks in the roofing section self adhesive backing for best placement with the rounded edges in our trucks i used the back of a rounded screw driver works better than your fingers and a plastic painters edger to iron wrinkles
TOTAL USED 5 1/2 rolls double layered throughout cab

Re: peel n seal pics FINALLY

We have been using it for years now. Seems like all we got was critized here for using it. We never stopped using it and for the money its great. It does not smell. Never saw it at any of the chain stores. Not sure if they sell the real stuff. It only comes in 24 and 30 in widths where we buy at $57.00 per roll.

Re: peel n seal pics FINALLY

Just as a comparison, I just bought 50 sq ft of FatMat off ebay for $80 shipped ($1.60/ sq ft).....according to the OP he used 5 1/2 rolls to double mat his entire cab....if the rolls are 25'x6"=12.5 sq ft....at $16.42/ roll (or $1.31/sqft) = $90.31

Also, seeing FatMat on ebay 100 sq ft going for $130 shipped ($1.30/ sq ft)

Also have seen others use Edead....saw it for $1/ sq ft

If I was to buy the 100 sq ft of Fatmat, is that enough to do the floor, doors, and firewall?

I roughly measured my cab the other night.....I measured from door seal to door seal roughly 5 1/2 ft (tried to take into account the tranny hump too)......then from the firewall (right around where the fuse panel is) to the front of the gas tank (not taking my tank out to put this down) was roughly 5 ft...so that's 27.5 sq ft....so yeah 100 sqft would probably be more than enough...could possibly double mat everything....

yes.....

I double layered my floor and went as far up the firewall as I could, back wall and I still have almost half left to finish the doors.

It made a huge difference.

Cole you have the same stuff in your truck as my buddy has in his 1967 Camaro.

Good looking stuff that seems to layout very nicely!

I just hate it when it comes to time to do my Suburban. LoL

Question Re: peel n seal pics FINALLY

Would the peel & seal work to dull the "tin can" sound of new door skins?
