recent progress-New seat, carpet, and rear bumper.
Hello everyone. I'm just posting some pics of recent progress of my 1968 c10 longbed. I recently started on the interior of my truck. It really needed it so badly. I have roughly had it bare bones style, no dash pad, cheap seat cover, no carpet, and largely old paintjob from preveiou owner. I can't beleive how much more I enjoy driving my truck now. The seat is an old one pulled out of a 1968 GMC from the salvage yard. I had a custom seat cover stitched up, installed a new dash pad from LMC (Just Dashes), and installed a new carpet from ACC with heat shield underneath. Since I was putting in new stuff, I wanted to paint the inside of the cab first. I've come close to finishing but still have to paint the inside of the driver door and the ceiling. I need to finish it up soon so I can install the new door weatherstripping. It has been raining quite a bit lately.
Anyways some pics. Old seat and replacement seat from salvage yard. |

New dashpad from LMC, came directly from Just Dashes though.

Carpet installation. It actually took me several hours to install the carpeting. The hardest part was cutting all of the holes for the bolts and bolt ons. I used about 6 new razor blades for the job.

Really nice! We all know how difficult the inside work is but we experience the inside so much more than we do the outside! Great work!

Re: recent progress-New seat, carpet, and rear bumper.
And finally, for now, new rear bumper from LMC. It is the premium bumper and it is from Tri-plus. It definetly looks 100% better than the old one but it is not anywhere as sturdy. It actually only took me about an hour and half total to install. Used all new brackets and bolts. I just overtighten the old bolts and they all just broke off. How easy is that?

I still have a bunch of new parts to install. It's a lot easier to just buy them but a little more difficult to find the time and energy to install them. Keith |

Great job. I don't know how you drove around the block in the old seat it looks really sad.

The throw does almost go to the dash. I would love to find another one that the throw isn't quite as wide. I am thinking about having a new one fabricated so that I can put a new shiftknob on it. Keith |
