GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
Does anyone know if the GM Coporate 14 bolt rear end will bolt up to a 66 3/4 ton long bed with coils and if it is about the same length the one I found came out of a 69 big block truck

Re: GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
if it didnt come out of a truck with coils it wont bolt up but you should be able to get the mounting perches through lmc and it should be the right length if it came out of a 69 then you might have to get a different panhard bar or make a mount for your current one

Re: GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
The 14 bolts didn't come out until '73. If you're looking at an original '69 big block C20 rear end it very likely is a Dana 60. It might have 3.54 gears if it was an auto trans truck. The panhard bar will be shorter than your '66 with the HO52 rear end.
If the rear end you are looking at is indeed a 14 bolt, I have a pair of the trailing arm mounts for them. The typical trailing arm brackets that you buy won't fit as the 14 bolt has a larger axle tube diameter than a 12 bolt.

Re: GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
yap that there be a corperate 14 bolt
![]() id go with the 14 bolt cuz ive seen those things go through hell and hold up only one downside though, you dont know the gears, it could have 4.56s and that could be a problem, find out what gears it has then think if they will apply to your application

Re: GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
Thanks for the info but my question is will it bolt up with no mod other than the u bolts and are there gears available for it in say the 3:55 range or is it relegated to the steeper gears like the HO52? Also is it the same width for wheel fitment? Thanks in advance.

The 14 Bolt I built for my '66 had 3.73 gears and an open carrier when I purchased it. The open carriers in the 14B FF can be changed over real easy to a locker with a Detroit Locker that bolts right into the open carrier. If I build a 2 wheel drive I will cut down a newer 14 Bolt Semi Floater. They have disc brakes already and they are even stronger then a 12 Bolt. I have a company that builds us Forged Axles for them and we can have any bolt pattern put in the axles.

Re: GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
It is impossible to say if that FF 14 bolt will just bolt into your truck without knowing whether it is setup for leaf springs or coils. Since the 14 bolt didn't come in that '69 originally, it's hard to say. The 3.73 and 4.11 gears are failry common in the FF 14 bolts. Although I believe 3.42 and 3.08 gears were available, but not very common or easy to find. I have measured a '74 FF 14 bolt and compared it to a '66 HO52, and the 14 bolt is a little wider.

Re: GM Corporate 14 Bolt ?????
Thanks again Captain for the info thats what i was afraid of I wanted to try and keep the same dimensions as my stock axle as well as keeping it a bolt in affair. I guess that will be harder than I had hoped. As for the axle pictured the first one has coils in it for the 1969 truck the picture is upside down took me a while to figure it out will have to call on the one with the 3 axles pictured to find out exactly what it came out of.
