70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
ok this may have been covered before but i couldnt find it. I have been told a 72 lwb frame is the same as a suburban frame other than the body mounts. i bought a 70 suburban body and this week i will start putting it on the lwb frame. Other than the frame mounts, are there any surprises i might run into? thanks..

Re: 70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
Ive also heard that the rear is different but my no limit engineering gas tank for a 67-72 truck fit fine on my 72 suburban so I don't know exactly what is different.

Re: 70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
I think it has to do with the arch over the rear axle. If I remember right the arch is higher on the truck frame then on the burb frame and the rear section is higher i think but I am not 100% sure

Re: 70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
I searched this site and found at least ten topics that covered this already. Two of them were very specific and listed exactly what was different between a LWB frame and a Suburban one.

Re: 70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
the truck frames are cut off strait in the back, where as on the suburbans the rear bumper bolts directly to the rear frame horns like the front does, and i think the rear body mounts are different as well

Re: 70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
The only differences that I know of are the two listed. On the suburban, the rear bumpers bolt to the frame rails . And the body mounts are different in the rear, from where a pickup cab would end, back

Re: 70 Suburban on lwb truck frame
Yep, those are the differences I found. I searched for something along the lines of "suburban frame lwb truck".
These two seemed the most helpful from that search: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=170121 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=239942 But you guys already have it figured out.
