Re: newer center caps

No, the up to 87 wheel had a bolt on center cap and the 88-89 had a snap on one. In 90 they started to hold the center on with black plastic lugs that were theaded to the lug nuts. The lug nuts are diferent sizes so that won't change . However, you can buy off e-bay some external threaded nuts from a guy I think his user name is lugnut dr. I hang out in the 67-72 parts and a lot of those guys buy lugnuts to use those centers [8 hole] on the 3/4 tons. Jim

1/2 ton 1/2-20 & 3/4 ton 9/16-18 Dual Thread lugnuts. RV equipment guys can probably get em locally. That's where I bought mine and my OEM takeoff wheels.

Re: newer center caps

You can put the later lugnut retained type of cap onto early rally wheels without buying the fancy lugnuts. They bolt on. I've done it several times.

If you'll turn the center caps over you'll see three posts on the back of them. In the end of each post is a plastic cap. Pull the plastic caps off with a pair of dikes. Now, you're looking at three posts with holes in them where the caps were. Get three 1/4 bolts and bolt them to your rally wheels using the holes that are already in the wheel. The bolts thread in from the back of the rally wheels and will screw into the newer center caps. Just make sure the bolts you choose don't have too tall of heads as they have to fit into the groove in back of the rally wheel.
