Broken outer axel on dana 44

The outer axel on my 84 chev 4x4 snapped inhalf I know it has the dana 44 upfront but i guess there is a couple different ones you can put in how do I figure out what one I need if it helps it has autolockers on it

There is a 1/2 ton Dana 44 and a 3/4 ton Dana 44. 1/2 tons are 6 bolt axles while the 3/4 tons are 8 bolt axles. I believe thats the only difference.

Your truck should have a 10 bolt front diff not a Dana 44 but it could have been changed at one time. From what I've seen Dana 44 both 6 and 8 lug versions as well as all 10 bolts both 6 and 8 lug use the same stub shafts. So finding a replacement will be easy.
