Ready to lower, have a quick question
I am ready to buy my lowering kit, probably from Early Classic. Below is the package I have in mind.
'65-'72 C-10 4/6 Drop Kit 2½" Drop Spindles 1½" Drop Front Springs 6" Drop Rear Springs 4 KYB Shocks Super Track Bar Kit Shock Mount Relocator Kit (Drop Spindles require Disc Brakes) $799.00 My Concern is that I measured my fender to ground height and found the front the be 32" off the ground and the rear to be 33'. Using a 4/6 kit will actually put my rear 1" lower than the front. I'm not sure I like the idea of that or if it will look right. Is this typical of lowered trucks? |

Are your present rear springs the stock ones? If so, I would guess that they are "sagging" with age.
The Early Classic web site has pics of what one of our trucks looks like when lowered using one of the various kits that they offer. I'd say that the new springs should do what they say. Good luck! Jeff

Dennis,
What color is that? I really like the white. It's a shame to lower the truck -- it's got such a nice stance already. IMHO, of course. Brian |

Thanks Truckster,
You are probably right about the springs sagging. I didnt even think of that. Brian, Sorry I don't know what color white it is. The truck was painted when I bought it. I appreciate you opinion on the lowering, but I fell a drop is the last thing I need to really give it a trick look. I may change wheels and tires eventually, but htese will due for know. Thanks, Dennis |

Sweet truck! BTW, I belive that most drop kits will lower the truck in the rear. More or less to level the truck.

The springs could be sagged, but you have a different year box on it and the wheel well is not round so it also doesn't go as high as the front But that drop should look sweet.

I think like 72 ChevyLWB the 88-98 wheel well isn't as hight, it'll tuck more tire but truck should be level
