Hey all - need some assistance with tires

I've sold my wheels and tires... seriously need help with a decision on tires!!!

I'd like to purchase the Boss Motorsports 338 in black 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear.

Now I'm needing some tires! I saw a newer Lightning with Hankook's that were sweet, but wasn't able to get the model on them. Just found the Nitto NT420S that has a real nice tread pattern too. Going onto Tirerack.com, they recommend 295/45/18, but I can't picture what that would look like! I'm good with a taller sidewall, so it fills up the wheel well and should have a nicer ride. Not too keen on rubber-band sized tires. Especially on the long ride to the Carlisle All Truck Nats this summer, I want a nicer ride. I'd appreciate any help y'all can give me

Re: Hey all - need some assistance with tires

I'm not so much concerned with the name of the tire as I am about proper fit, performance and wear. I don't want to chince out just to save a couple of dollars. Everything that I have lasts because I'm not cheap, but I don't want to waste money for nothing I also want something that has a nice pattern too.

My truck is lowered only 2/4, so there's lots of room in the wheel well that I want to fill. Although lowering is in the future - and has always been - I'm not too concerned right now. She sat for over 3 years and now that she's running again, I need to really run

So with an 18x8 front wheel and 18x9.5 wheel (this is what I would like), can you suggest a good tire front and rear that will last without being hard as a rock, hook up without being a street slick and look nice too while filling the wheel well?

Re: Hey all - need some assistance with tires

I put a set of Yokohama Geolander HT-S on my GMC. I like 'em. They ride good, they're quiet and they grip well on wet pavement. The tread pattern is modern-looking.

Before that I ran a set of T/A Radials. They did not give me very good service, essentially worn out at less than 30K miles. The Goodyear tires on the wifes' Lexus have over 50K miles and should be good for another 30K.

The sizing was an issue for me. I went with a 245-70R16 on my GMC, because I wanted something that was close to the OEM tire diameter for a 235-75R15. Whenever I replace these tires, I'm going with a shorter aspect ratio, hopefully a 60-series, so I can get a skosh bit more clearance. When I cut the wheel hard to the left, I may get a touch of tire rubbing on the inside of the fender. I'm aware of the issue, so I just monitor and adjust as needed.

I looked and only saw the Toyo and Nitto in that size... the Nitto ZR series looks bad azz
